'We had terrible weather for 3 out of the 4 days we stayed. However as the house is so large and spacious, full of games, books and has table tennis in the garage the kids had plenty to keep them entertained in the wet weather and the adults had a great time chilling out in the many spaces around the home. We had four adults and four children aged 3yrs to 11years and at no time did we feel cramped in because of the large spaces around the house. The kitchen has everything you need or could ever think of and having the Weber and bbq came in handy. Shops, skate park and beach about a 2min walk down the road. Perfect for large families!'

'The Beachhouse is a very comfortable and well laid out home with a large outdoor deck. There is a fascinating collection of interesting artworks and decorator items, an enormous amount of books, games and puzzles for all ages, beautiful gardens. The kitchen is well equipped, beds are comfortable and it is located within easy reach of the small shopping and restaurant area and surf club. The beach is within walking distance. Highly recommend the Beachhouse.'

'This is a beautiful home in a great location, we had 5 adults and comfortably stayed in this well payed out home. Offers a lot of entertainment area with couple large family areas and a private deck with bbq appliances. Kitchen is a delight to cook in with gas stoves and everything you need. Great house for 2 families with kids. Great location, can walk everywhere in Dicky Beach, including cafes and the beach. Lots of activities and games provided in the house. Has everything you need for a lovely family getaway. We will definitely be returning to the Beachhouse again :)

Don’t bring a thing! This house has EVERYTHING you need to entertain and provide for the whole family. Loads of boogie boards, toys, a beach umbrella, streaming services, every utensil and pot or pan ever required and a huge array of glasses and mugs. Easy walk to family friendly beaches and a relaxed vibe. A great place!

Beautiful house. Great location. Kitchen very well kitted out with crockery, storage containers, utensils, pots and pans. Great to have some basic spices in the cupboard. Super family friendly with heaps of board games, DVDs. A number of spacious living areas. Walking distance to beach, coffee and restaurants.

An absolute paradise. We travelled from every corner of Qld and the Kimberley to have a rare family get together. This was the perfect setting. Beautiful breezy spaces, a well appointed kitchen, every game imaginable and a surprise table tennis table. Memories were made at Driftwood that will last for years. The place felt so homely. The position near shops and beach was amazing. 11 out of 10 from us!!

Plenty of space for 8 people. Well equipped kitchen, large clean and modern living spaces, lock up garage which means a cooler car to get into. Excellent air conditioning essential for the summer months. Host is very responsive. Close to restaurants and beach. All round great stay. Would definitely stay again.

Beachside Getaway – Driftwood House

Driftwood is for relaxation. Forget the car , laze around the house or simply walk out the gate to enjoy our Beachside location .

Our home is orientated to catch the light , the sea breeze and the hum of a rolling surf. The garden and house design give a “living in the trees” feel. Our eclectic and evolving interior is comfortable , functional and sprinkled with colour and fun.

You will have exclusive use of our spacious, four bedroom home , situated in a quiet, park-like estate. It is a short, flat walk to beautiful Dicky beach with its long stretch of clean,white sand. On your way, you will pass our Cafe and Community Shopping Precinct that provides most of your daily needs. Its position allows easy access without impacting on the amenity of the house.

Upstairs you can see how close you are to the ocean. Swim between the flags: take a 7 minute walk to the surf lifesaver patrolled, section of the beach

Around the corner (200m), you will find several cafes and a variety of eateries ( fish and chips , Thai, Modern Asian, Poke Bowls, Pizzeria and Bar).

Don’t forget The Wreck Bistro, Bar and Gaming facilities at the Surf Club.

Your everyday needs can be met by the:

IGA Express Grocery Store,
Bakery which also serves delicious Bahn Mi and Kebabs
speciality Butcher,
BWS Liquor store,
Pharmacy,
Hair Dresser

Cross the road at the Pedestrian Crossing and continue walking past the SS Dicky Parkland , Skate Park and Surf Club before reaching the patrolled section of Dicky Beach.

You could walk the beach south to Moffat Headland or north to Currimundi Lake. Park seating and Cafes abound at either end for that obligatory break.

If you have your board, there is a Surf Break North of the swimming area. ( Ann st ).

You can fish off the beach. A friendly local with a rod will often advise.

You could continue your walk (or bicycle) the scenic Coastal Pathway north, as far as Point Cartwright or South through Caloundra to Bells Creek.

If you leave the house and head in the opposite direction, a 10 minute walk brings you to the beautiful Tooway Lake. Walking on from here, ( use the pedestrian underpass on the western side of the bridge and follow the eastern, waterside path) you will find the Moffat Beach Precinct with the Moffat Beach Brewery, art gallery , homewares store and more. There is also a Doctor’s surgery, Post Office, Petrol station, traditional bakery and Foodworks Grocery Store just across the bridge.

Remember, You can always order your groceries online to be delivered for a time, after your arrival. However, If you want to drive, the closest supermarket is 5 minutes away at the Currimundi Markets Shopping Centre on the Nicklin Way.

Really , you do not need to drive anywhere, if it is relaxation you are after.
